UK Ghost Story Festival
The first event of 2023 I will be attending is the UK Ghost Story Festival in Derby, England an event I’ve only heard good things about, so I’m delighted to go. It certainly will add a lift to February, which is often the last hard month of the year before Spring offers its full flowering.
There are several pre-festival performances taking place on Wednesday and Thursday, before the plethora of interviews, panel discussions and workshops kick off from Friday the 17th February until Sunday the 19th February at the Museum of Making in Derby.
Tickets are still on sale, but many events are sold out already.
I’ll be doing a short reading at the festival on Sunday at the Open Mic event at noon.
I’ve written a number of ghost stories over the years and love the form. As a result I was so pleased that Flame Tree Publishing asked me to write the introduction to their latest book, Irish Ghost Stories – which got its publication on Halloween 2022.
I’m also looking forward to catching up with all my spooky pals in Derby next month.
