My Heart is Broken

Despite the title of this blog post, my heart is actually happy and whole right now! That’s because I can reveal the cover for the forthcoming one-shot comic I wrote for Opus Comics based on the famous Evanescence song.

This gorgeous cover artwork is by Kelly McKernan, and Valeria Romanazzi will be drawing the comic itself.

But I love the live versions of this song in particular, because they often highlight Amy Lee’s piano skills, and of course her beautiful voice.

I played piano for about ten years during school so I always appreciate a terrific pianist and I love piano music. All of this went into the story that came into my mind while listening to the song.

I’m grateful to Denton J Tipton at Opus Comics and for the band for putting their trust in my work.

The comic should be available for pre-order now and will be in all good comic book shops (but you should order it!) in February 2023.
