year’s best

Horror editor Paula Guran has announced the Table of Contents for the Year’s Best Dark Fantasy and Horror 2010, which is being published by Prime Books in October.

I’m delighted to confirm that my short story “Vic” has been selected for the anthology.

“Vic” was first published in Black Static, issue 10, so a big thank you to editor Andy Cox for taking a chance with the story.

It’s a thrill to see my story listed in the company of so many writers whose work I admire.

The anthology will be 500+ pages featuring 38 stories (about 250,000 words) so there will be plenty to read. Quite appropriately the volume will be dedicated to Ellen Datlow.

The cover has not been finalised yet, but this is the current image.

Thats quite an impressive line up. Is this a debut for this anthology? I havent seen it before? I would buy it for thd MM Smith and Joe R. lansdale alone, but of course, will want to have you on the old shelf as well. 😉

INteresting selection of women writers too, some I don’t know, which is always good.

    well done.

Yes, there’s a fabulous spectrum of talent in the book. I’d buy it even if I wasn’t in it. 🙂

Saw your post last night but I was just going to bed. Congratulations, I’m so happy for you. It’s great that this story has found a home alongside such talent. Well deserved, and I think Andy Cox knew exactly what he was doing.

Cheers Sam. I’ve been almost too busy to enjoy this piece of news.

It might sink in after the weekend. 🙂
