    Another lovely day in Ireland, and gosh don’t my contributor copies of the Witchfinder trade paperback collection glow in the sunlight. This is the collection of the five-issue Sir Edward Grey: Witchfinder story, which I co-wrote with Kim, with art by Tyler Crook, coloured by Dave Stewart, with a cover by Mike Mignola, lettered by Clem Robins, and edited by Scott Allie, published by Dark Horse Comics. All set in the Hellboy universe created by Mike Mignola.   • Signing in London for Witchfinder

    I’m delighted to say that I’ll be signing copies of the trade paperback edition of Witchfinder: The Mysteries of Unland with Kim Newman at the Forbidden Planet in London on 15 April. This is the collection of the five-issue Sir Edward Grey: Witchfinder story, which I co-wrote with Kim, with art by Tyler Crook, coloured by Dave Stewart, with a cover by Mike Mignola, lettered by Clem Robins, and edited by Scott Allie, published by Dark Horse Comics.   • Irish Comics News Awards 2014

    The 4th Annual Irish Comic News Awards has opened for voting, and I’ve been nominated in two categories: Best Irish Writer Published Outside of Ireland Best Irish Creator Comic Published Outside of Ireland Both of these nominations are for my work on Witchfinder: The Mysteries of Unland, which I co-wrote with Kim Newman, with art by Tyler Crook, coloured by Dave Stewart, covers by Julian Totino Tedesco, lettered by Clem Robins, and edited by Scott Allie.   • The Mysteries of Unland TPB Revealed

    Up on The Beat there’s a lovely announcement: the reveal of the cover for the trade paperback of Witchfinder: The Mysteries of Unland, which is drawn by Mike Mignola. It’s wonderful to have artwork by Mike on the book – it should be out early next year. The announcement is part of the 13 Days of Hellboy festival that Dark Horse Comics is running currently.

    Our artist on Witchfinder: The Mysteries of Unland, Tyler Crook, recently posted this image of the first 88 pages of Witchfinder artwork, with the caption, ’22 pages left to go!’ It’s weird to see the combined work of 18 months condensed into a thick sheaf of pages. Kim and I finished writing the scripts over six months ago, but the project has been on-going because we’re involved in the proofing of covers, layouts, pencils, inks, and lettering. The job of the writer on comic books doesn’t end when the script is handed in. Witchfinder is coming out on a monthly schedule, so the final comic book in this five-issue mini-series…
