ICN Award Win
This afternoon I discovered that I won the Best Irish Writer Published Outside of Ireland, in the ICN Awards 2015. I’m stunned. I had no expectation of winning as it was a strong category with good talent represented. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, as well as the hard-working crew at the good ship ICN, ably captained by Dave Ferguson. Much respect to my fellow nominees. Cassilda's Song on Kindle
The Kindle edition of Cassilda’s Song: Tales Inspired by Robert W. Chambers King in Yellow Mythos is now available to buy. The trade paperback edition should be arriving in stores shortly. Lola comes to (un)life
I’m stoked to hear that Ron Salas (who has worked for Image, Marvel, Dark Horse, etc.) is the artist drawing my short comic book script for Wailing Heights, which will be a part of a forthcoming video game from Outsider Games. I’ve seen the pages, and I’m thrilled that Lola’s origin story has been brought to (un)life in such a lively fashion.

I’ve been remiss in mentioning an awards nomination I received while I was travelling last month. I was pleased that I was selected for the Best Irish Writer Published Outside Ireland Award in the ICN Awards this year. Voting is open and is online. Celebrating Nigel Kneale
As mentioned recently I’ve an essay in the forthcoming anthology, We Are The Martians: The Legacy of Nigel Kneale, which is edited by Neil Snowdon and published by Spectral Press. Tied into the launch of the book there will be a rehearsed reading of Kneale’s lost drama The Road at the Horse Hospital, London from 7pm – 10pm on 10 December, organised by Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies. It will feature the voice talents of Jonathan Rigby, Mark Gatiss, Jason Morrell (son of Quatermass actor Andre), Claire Louise Amias, Clarence Smith, Annabel Bates, James Swanton, Michael Shaw, and David Morely Hale. Writing Lola
I’m delighted to announce that I’m doing another collaboration with my pal Stephen Downey, with whom I worked on Jennifer Wilde. Stephen’s other job is co-founder of Outsider Games, which is developing a new title called Wailing Heights. It’s described as: “A coffin-rocking, body-hopping, musical adventure game, set in with a horrific hamlet of monsters, with a story by Kevin Beimers (Hector: Badge of Carnage) and glorious 2D artwork from a host of illustrious comic book talent.” I was given the task of coming up with the background of Lola, the vampire character in Wailing Heights, and writing a short script detailing her history for a comic that will appear…

The 4th Annual British Comic Awards took place at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds as one of the opening night events for the Thought Bubble Festival‘s Comic Con Weekend.
