Yesterday's gorgeous sunset reflected in flooded f Yesterday's gorgeous sunset reflected in flooded fields. Often when taking a picture you want to get the perfect capture. But my route to an unimpeded view of that was nonexistent - inconvenient trees, brambles and walls were in every shot. You know, all the things that exist in this landscape! So I let go of impossible and accepted the real. And it remains a beautiful image of the end of a splendid day. #photography #Galway #Ireland #sunset #reflection #floods
The spaces people cleared to build their structure The spaces people cleared to build their structures are reclaimed by nature eventually. Our memories, imprinted upon stone, tethered by void, are replayed by those whose names we never learned but who watched us always. They puzzle over our artefacts, crafted with such effort but doomed to decay. Blind, loud creatures that trampled the world, then vanished. #woods #ivy #forest #ruins #Galway #Ireland

At this it slumbers again as the trees bend and flail in the wind and rain, alive to the moment. #reflection #Galway #Ireland #trees #water
Oh no, a lost polar bear hat, awaiting the return Oh no, a lost polar bear hat, awaiting the return of its wee owner. I'm hoping for a cheerful reunion, but conscious this bear must dangle in the dark Irish woods (far from its land of birth) alone at night. Perhaps our resident forest spirits will lay claim to it with twiggy fingers, and caper in front of their secret, arcane fires, passing it back and forth from gnarled to spikey heads. Whatever child is crowned with this the following morning will dream of hidden worlds. #hat #woods #forest #lostandfound #Galway #Ireland #story
