Animated delights at JDIFF

Neil Gaiman has announced on his twitter account that he will be attending the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (12-22 Feb 2009).

No doubt he’ll be there to promote the film of his children’s novel, Coraline, which was adapated and directed by Henry Selick. Mr. Gaiman will be at the festival on the 15th of February.

It’s worth mentioning that the Irish animated feature, aimed at children, The Secret of Kells, will also be shown at the film festival. It’s written by Fabrice Ziolkowski from a story by Tomm Moore, and co-directed by Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey. The advance buzz on this film is good, and Cartoon Saloon, the Irish production company behind it, has been producing great content lately.
