Galway attracts the talent

The Galway Film Fleadh (11-16 July, 2006) continues its tradition of staging fantastic masterclasses as part of the festival programme.

IFTN reports that Academy Award-winning actress Kathy Bates will teach the Actors’ Masterclass, British director Nicolas Roeg will host the Directors’ Masterclass, and legendary Hollywood writer Robert Towne will instruct the Screenwriters’ Masterclass. That’s a knockout line-up of talent.

The deadline for applications is Friday, June 23rd, and a CV/biography is required as part of the submission. Each workshop costs €75.

Also, the Fleadh has extended the deadline for the Stella Artois Pitching Award to Friday June 16th. Those of you who are passionate about your screenplay idea and have the nerve to pitch in public could win €5000. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt your chances of attracting the attention of a producer.

Yes, I’d say she’ll be a great teacher.I’d be more interested in the Robert Towne masterclass… but friends of mine will be going so I’ll get reports about it.
