I love it when a plan comes together
The February edition of Sigla magazine is now online. There you can read my micro-flash fiction. I enjoyed the challenge of writing a piece in under 25 words.
I finished my treatment on time, and generally I’m pleased with the direction it’s taking. I should get feedback on Tuesday, and perhaps then my opinion will change about its viability. At the moment I think I’ve enough in the story to last me through the many drafts ahead of me.
I have plotted an entirely different kind of film also, which I want to get into step outline form. Ultimately, I’d love to have drafts of both films finished by the end of this year. Of course, one of them has to be in a completely polished state for the September deadline, but I’d like to have a first draft completed of the second one by December.
I’m considering writing the first screenplay into novel form after September. Both versions will require a lot of research, but more for the novel.
These extra projects are pretty flexible at the moment as I want to see how this year plays out first. Life has a habit of fucking with your plans, and there’s no point in aiming for too much. There are several short stories I want to tackle as well.
I have a lot of writing ahead of me.
