Jennifer Wilde page 1

Here’s page 1 of my next comic book, Jennifer Wilde. Art and lettering are by the talented Stephen Downey. If you hop over to the web site you can see page 2 and 3 as well. It’s a little naughty, but this is the art scene in 1921 in Paris!

Today The Irish Times published an article called “The brave new world of comic-book heroines“, written by Sinéad Gleeson. It looks at the women who are emerging on the Irish comic book scene at the moment. I’m one of the women featured in the piece.

Earlier in the year when I assembled the list of women working in comic books in the UK and Ireland I made a note of the Irish women on the list.

So, with a little cutting and pasting I can give you a list of women working in comic books in Ireland. Irish Comic News is continuing to run its series of interview with Irish comic book creators and I’ve linked to the women who have been interviewed over there so far:

As usual, if people know an Irish woman I’ve missed who is currently active in the scene and has been published, then please pass on the information to me. To be clear, she should be either permanently resident here or a native Irish person living abroad.
