“You can tell a man by the cut of his cloth,” so Mother used to say.

I always make an effort with my appearance. At least the press appreciate that. They refer to me as “well-dressed”, “neat”, and even once, “impeccable.” Mother would have been proud of that part, but would have gone into one her terrible rages about the lies they print about me.

I’m sure she’s watching over me now, and will make those girls repent the evil claims they have made.

Mother understood female wiles, and warned me constantly about the dangers from the daughters of Eve.

God will reveal me as an innocent man; He protects His messengers.
